Cellulite is a common problem that plagues many women, especially on the buttocks and the back of the legs. Contrary to what most people think, cellulite is not just a problem in women who need to lose weight but can be very evident in women who are close to or at their ideal body weight. No amount of diet or exercise can improve cellulite because it results from fibrous bands in the skin that cause uneven dimpling. We are pleased to let our patients know that there is finally a treatment to help reduce cellulite called Cellfina that was pioneered by dermatologists.
Cellfina is the only FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure that is clinically proven to reduce cellulite. With a single treatment, Cellfina significantly improves the appearance of cellulite on the buttocks and thighs. This translates to removal of the dimples and the appearance of smooth healthy looking skin and most important having the confidence to wear a short dress, or a string bikini, and feeling terrific about it. Our office stays on the cutting edge of non-invasive aesthetic procedures and will be introducing Cellfina to the local community in the coming months. Dr. Omar Ibrahimi is a leading dermatologist with national expertise in laser and device procedures of the skin.

Frequently asked questions
What is cellulite?
Cellulite results from fibrous bands (septae) that connect the skin to deeper tissue at specific points. This creates many “pockets” of fat cells and when some of these bands contract, it will create a dimpled appearance commonly on the buttocks or back of the thighs in women.
What is Cellfina™?
Cellfina is the only FDA-cleared, minimally invasive procedure clinically shown to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least one year.
How does Cellfina work?
After a local numbing solution is administered, Dr. Omar Ibrahimi uses the Cellfina™ system to target the fibrous bands that cause cellulite. By releasing these fibrous bands in the dimpled areas, Cellfina can reduce the appearance of cellulite in a single treatment.
How soon will I see improvement?
The FDA-approved study showed that most research participants felt very satisfied with their results within three days of having the procedure. At three months, 85 percent of patients were satisfied, and after one year, 94 percent were satisfied. It is important to note that this high level of satisfaction is much higher than all other cellulite treatments.
How long do results last?
The results are long-lasting. Many patients from the initial clinical trials have seen results persisting three years after their treatment.
If I undergo Cellfina to reduce cellulite and then gain or lose weight will my results change?
Cellulite is more dependent on fibrous bands than changes in weight. It is not thought that weight change will play a significant role on the appearance of cellulite.
Are there any side effects?
There have been no serious adverse events associated with Cellfina. The most common side effects are soreness and bruising. Just three days after treatment, the majority of the study subjects rated their pain as minimal and this resolved quickly with time.
How long does the procedure take?
The treatment time depends on how extensive the individual’s cellulite dimpling is and the number of areas being treated. Most cases take Dr. Omar Ibrahimi about 45 minutes to treat.
Will I need to take time off?
There are minimal side effects in most patients so the majority of them do not need to take any time off.
How much does the Cellfina treatment cost?
Cellfina is a very personalized treatment so the cost varies per case, we recommend consulting with Dr. Omar Ibrahimi to determine your exact costs.
